From her loft studio overlooking the Wind River Mountains, visual artist and Elusive Muse Co-founder Kim R. Draper explores a wide range of creative endeavors as both a digital and traditional artist.
Kim is a self-driven, highly motivated artist, graphic designer, and illustrator. She specializes in creative illustrations, graphic design with an artistic edge and websites for small business entities.
In her 22 years in the design industry, she has had the opportunity to contribute her passion and skills to a wide variety of interesting and unique projects, working both on her own and as part of a design team.
Her professional experience in the advertising and newspaper industry has allowed her to hone her skills in corporate branding, marketing, and publication design. Customers come to see Kim Rene’ with a vague idea of what they want, then rely on her expertise and skill to transform their ideas into a product that will enable them to get noticed by their target market.
Kim is currently enrolled in the on-going course “Storytelling”, being given at iVersity; a European-based online university that is part of Design 101. The course focus is to teach visual artists to conceive, develop and tell a collaborative story using social media and digital tools. The work she has produced and shared on social media platforms has received strong feedback and has allowed her to further develop her skills as a self-taught artist. Professor Stefano Marti from iVersity recently said, “Kim controls perfectly the various elements generating the visual story. The color palettes and the compositions are well-crafted and get along very well. The references are subtle and once you have them together they define a very clear precise mood from time to time… In terms of storytelling, excellent work. Difficult to give a suggestion on how to improve.”
Kim has been married to her high school sweetheart for over 37 years and is the proud mother of two boys who are equally as passionate about art. When she is not creating in her studio loft, working with clients, or interacting with the Elusive Muse community, she enjoys spending time outdoors; always with her sketchbook in hand and the desire to capture the natural beauty of the world around her.
