The Daily Muse: Nancy Goodman Lawrence, Collage Artist

Elusive Muse could stare at a Nancy Goodman Lawrence collage for hours and still want more. The details in her collages are like 100’s of tiny paintings. Her work is so inspiring and her collage abilities are amazing.

And now a word from Nancy Goodman Lawrence,

I began my career as a painter but gradually began experimenting with using paper as my exclusive medium. A box of maps found in my parents’ home became the inspiration for several bodies of work including portraits, the figure, a series based on concentric circles and most recently, mixed-media work comprised of paper, paint, graphite and ink.

My work is featured in the books, Collage, Assemblage and Altered Art, by Diane Maurer-Mathison, 2008, Watson-Guptill Publications; Masters: Collage, Major Works by Leading Artists, 2010, Lark Books and Geo Graphic, Index Book, Barcelona, 2013. An illustration appears in The America Journal of Nursing, June 2012.
